A native of Buffalo, Dr. Lillis obtained her MD from University at Buffalo. She completed a pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s. Dr. Lillis then went on to complete her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. For over 18 years, Dr. Lillis was an attending in the Department of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. She served as Chief of the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for over nine years. Dr. Lillis has authored articles on asthma, bronchiolitis, abdominal trauma, and cervical spine injuries (CSI). This work has been disseminated through a variety of publications, most notably: The New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatrics, Lancet, Academic Emergency Medicine, Journal of American Academy of Child Adolescent Psychiatry, Journal of Neurosurgery, Archives of Pediatric Adolescent Medicine, and Annals of Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Emergency Care.
In December 2010, Dr. Lillis pioneered the first WNY pediatric urgent care facility, and has developed it into a center of excellence, as an ED alternative for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults through age 21.
She has five children, two boys and three girls, ages 10 through 22.
