Why After-Hours Pediatric Care Is Important

As a parent or guardian, if you know one thing about raising kids, it’s this: accidents, injuries, and illnesses almost never happen at a convenient time. And realistically, even if your child does sprain their wrist or come down with flu symptoms during normal business hours, the odds that you’d be able to get in to see your regular pediatrician with little notice are slim.

That’s what after-hours pediatric care is for. Here at Pediatric & Adolescent Urgent Care of WNY, we’re here to help when your pediatrician’s office isn’t open. With extended hours in the evenings and on weekends, we can offer immediate care if your child sprains their ankle during soccer practice or has an allergic reaction at their cousin’s birthday party. We help your child get the care they need, when they need it – all while avoiding the steep fees and long waits of an emergency room.

How We’re Different from Other Urgent Care Facilities

Like your pediatrician’s office, our office is staffed by a team of highly trained and compassionate doctors who love working with kids. We’ll communicate with you clearly and work hard to make your child feel better. We take the time to listen and answer any questions that you may have. Our philosophy is that no-one knows a child better than their parents and care givers. We want you to be involved with the medical plan and treatment of your child. 

However, while your pediatrician’s office has certain hours for seeing patients and often requires appointments, we’re open on nights, weekends and holidays. You can visit our walk-in clinic whenever your child needs us. Plus, we have a full suite of testing equipment available, including X-ray and laboratory facilities. While your pediatrician may have to send samples to a lab or refer your child elsewhere for an X-ray, we do everything we can to get you the answers you need right away. And don’t worry: we forward everything we find to your child’s pediatrician, so they stay fully in the loop on your child’s care.

This commitment to communication, availability, and speedy treatment is what makes us the right choice when your child needs urgent pediatric medical care.
