There’s a mistaken belief that the only difference in treating adults and children is the size of the patient. However, when it comes to pediatric urgent care, many other factors are in play.
Since children are still developing, medical providers must pay special attention to any growth issues that may occur as a result of the child’s injury or illness. Even though a provider may be treating the same problem an adult may face, they must take these developmental factors into consideration. Medical providers for children must also be sensitive to not only the physical changes associated with children and adolescents, but also the intellectual, emotional, and social ones. This is not always an easy task, as any parent will tell you.
Because of all these different factors, it’s often better for parents to take their children to a pediatrician rather than a general practitioner – especially when the situation calls for urgent care.
Pediatric & Adolescent Urgent Care of WNY provides many services for children from all over Western New York and surrounding areas!
When it comes to Pediatric Peace of Mind, our facility is the right choice for you and your precious little ones. We can treat lacerations, sprains, and broken bones from sporting activities or just being a kid. We can also treat colds, coughs, ear infections, asthma, and fevers. In short, we’ll be there for you and your family throughout all of childhood’s bumps and bruises.
If any lab services are required, we can perform blood, urine, and chemical testing right here at our facilities. We can also test for strep throat, the flu, and mononucleosis.
